Wiktor, along with his sisters, Mia, Amelka, and Vanessa, has been bravely facing a series of severe illnesses that have required the family to fight with everything they have. 💔 A Battle for Life from the Start

Wiktor’s story began with a difficult birth. He spent the first two months of his life in the hospital, his tiny body fighting for survival. There were several moments when doctors had to resuscitate him, unsure of how to help him, unsure if he would survive. But despite the odds, Wiktor never gave up. The fight for his life is a battle that will continue throughout his entire journey.

Wiktor was diagnosed with Treacher Collins Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes facial deformities. Along with this, he suffers from a cleft palate, severe breathing difficulties, andbilateral hearing loss. From birth, a tracheostomy tube was fitted to help him breathe. It was a lifesaver, but it also meant that Wiktor would face more surgeries, more therapies, and more battles as he grows.

His strength is extraordinary, and every step forward is a victory, but there is still so much he needs — so much more than the National Health Fund (NFZ) can provide. The waiting lists are long, and private treatment is financially out of reach for his family.

Wiktor is not alone in this fight. His sisters, Mia, Amelka, and Vanessa, each have their own health challenges that require care, treatment, and surgeries.

Amelia, who has undergone plastic surgery to get braces, attends an integrated high school and faces a future of continued medical care and therapy. Mia has a mild genetic disorder

and also experiences hearing loss, requiring specialized care. She has been referred to a specialist clinic, and her family is awaiting the results of further tests. The road ahead is long, with more diagnoses, therapies, and medical appointments to come.

Vanessa, the youngest of the siblings, has also been diagnosed with a mild genetic defect. During the second trimester of her pregnancy, doctors discovered a heart defect. Vanessa will needseveral heart surgeries as she grows, and doctors also found that her nostrils are closed, which could make breathing more difficult for her. The family is working closely with specialists inWarsaw to determine the best course of action.

The Stachowiak family’s journey is one of medical need, love, and sacrifice. They have already moved to a new location to be near the doctors and specialists who can help Wiktor, and their lives have been centered around managing the constant healthcare needs of all four children.
