Dear friends and supporters,It is with immense joy and gratitude that we share with you the long-awaited news about our beloved daughter, Nadia. It is with immense joy and gratitude that we share with you the long-awaited news about our beloved daughter, Nadia. On April 7th, Nadia underwent a ventriculoperitoneal shunt implantation procedure after 190 long days in the hospital. This marks an important milestone in her journey, and it is a moment we will never forget. The timing couldn’t have been more meaningful. We were able to bring her home on Holy Thursday, making it the most beautiful Easter we could have imagined—full of love, hope, and deep emotional relief.
For over half a year, our lives were shaped by the constant presence of hospital rooms, machines, and medical staff. It felt like an eternity, but on that day, we brought Nadia home to the warm embrace of her family. The joy and relief we felt as we saw her settle in her own bed, safe and sound, are beyond words. After everything she has been through, to finally see her in the comfort of her own home was a blessing we will cherish forever.
The procedure itself went smoothly, and for the first time in what feels like forever, we can breathe a little easier. Nadia’s hair is slowly starting to grow back, and she’s been smiling more often, something we hadn’t seen in such a long time. Each time she smiles, it feels like a small victory. It’s a sign of progress, of healing, and of hope. To see her calm, surrounded by love and warmth, brings us indescribable joy and peace.
But even as we celebrate this precious milestone, we know that our fight for Nadia’s health is far from over. While she’s now home and recovering, there are still numerous challenges we must face. Nadia continues to take a number of medications daily, and we are in the process of arranging further specialized care to support her continued recovery. Each day brings us closer to her future, but we know there are still obstacles to overcome.
On May 16th, we had an orthopedic consultation for Nadia’s foot orthoses, which are essential for her ongoing development and well-being. The cost for these necessary orthoses is 4,800 PLN, an amount that is significant but crucial for her comfort and mobility. Although the Polish Family Support Center (PCPR) provides funding for such needs, the process to access this funding is long and would delay her treatment even further. Nadia is growing so quickly, and any delay in getting her the proper orthoses means more frequent replacements, which is something we want to avoid. This is why we are urgently seeking your support to help us acquire these orthoses as soon as possible.
In addition to her orthopedic needs, Nadia still faces challenges with her feeding. She is unable to eat on her own and continues to rely on a feeding tube. As any parent knows, the ability to feed your child is one of the most fundamental ways of caring for them, and this is a daily struggle for Nadia and for us. Our dream is to have Nadia participate in a specialized feeding and rehabilitation camp that will help her acquire new skills and move closer to the independence we all long for. This camp will give her the chance to develop the skills she needs to one day be able to eat on her own, which would be a huge step toward improving her quality of life and independence.
While these challenges are daunting, we remain hopeful and determined. The road ahead is still long, but we know that with your support, Nadia will continue to make progress. Your kindness and generosity have already made a tremendous difference in her life, and we are eternally grateful for every donation, every prayer, and every act of kindness we’ve received.
We are asking, once again, for your continued support. Every penny, every word of encouragement, and every share of our story is invaluable. Nadia’s journey is one of strength, resilience, and hope, but we cannot do this alone. We still need your help to ensure that she can receive the proper care, therapy, and support she needs to continue on this path toward a better life. With your help, we can ensure that she not only survives but thrives, one step at a time.
Every small victory—every smile, every laugh, every new skill learned—is a testament to the power of love, community, and hope. Nadia deserves a childhood filled with joy, security, and love, and with your support, we can help make that a reality. The fight for her future is ongoing, and every day is an opportunity to move closer to the life she deserves.
We will never be able to express enough how much your support means to us. Your contributions give Nadia a chance for a better tomorrow, a chance for a safe and happy childhood, a chance for a future that is bright and full of possibilities. Together, we can help her take those steps toward independence, and one day, we can watch her achieve the milestones that we have dreamed of for so long.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being with us on this journey. We couldn’t do it without you. With your continued support, we know that Nadia’s future will be filled with hope, love, and all the possibilities she deserves.
